When she was talking about how she was instructing and what not in the dialogue. I got the impression she was already married with that. As for how to talk about how old she is, just small things like if they have a teenage body or a manly one. When I think boy, I think very young. So he can be a young man, a teenage boy, etc. Describe if he's in puberty still. Is she? That kind of stuff. :)
