Your writing always feels very controlled and that is an exquisitely good trait. It makes the reader feel safe, especially in cases such as this, where the tension is very tightly woven and there is an overwhelming sense of something BAD hovering just over the top of the sympathetic characters. You also write in a very complicated universe and the comprehensiveness of this piece is impressive! The opening sequence completely captured me - physically and emotionally! Great job here.
